When the posters for Jab Harry Met Sejal were released, the Internet exploded.
It wasn’t a good explosion though. Fans were thoroughly disappointed with the film’s lack of creativity with the title because any Tom, Dick, or ironically Harry, can tell that the film’s title sounds a lot like the eighties rom-com When Harry Met Sally starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal.
King Khan came forth to defend these claims and to promise that the film is authentic and original, even if the title isn’t. “The films have no similarity, except for the fact that we can hope our movie can also be one of that kind of unabashed classic love stories. But it is a takeoff from there (When Harry met Sally) as that movie is a classic. It is a way to attribute,” he said.
Furthermore, he concluded that the iconic film’s title has become more of a catchphrase now. “I think When Harry met Sally is more of a metaphor now, rather than a title,” he noted.
