According to a report in Variety, the hacker released eight episodes of an unaired show called Steve Harvey’s Funderdome on The Pirate Bay.
“Time to play another round,” the hacker said in a note that accompanied the release. “We’re following through on our threats as we always do.”
“If you prefer your meat bloody, we’re serving it bloody as can be,” the note stated further. “We’re bringing another piece from the world of unaired mainstream media content.”
The unaired show was scheduled to premiere on June 11. It is unclear if that date will be pushed around to accommodate the hack incident.
According to Variety, not much is known about the hacker who goes by the alias of The Dark Overload. It is not even clear if it is one person or a group of hackers but reports suggest that he has been hacking and blackmailing companies for several months.
Variety notes: “A list of shows and movies allegedly stolen by The Dark Overlord included around three dozen titles from multiple studios, including CBS, Fox and NBC. The list also named Steve Harvey’s Funderdome as one of the affected ABC shows.”
