Riding high on the success of his last release Dangal, that has earned over a 1000 crores worldwide and become India’s highest grossing film ever, Aamir Khan is gearing up for his next, Thugs of Hindostan. Given the amount of money Dangal is making, it comes as no surprise that the star is demanding a hefty fee for Thugs of Hindostan that is being produced by Aditya Chopra.
If reports are to be believed, Chopra has agreed to share 70 per cent of the film’s profit with the actor.
According to a trade insider, “Aamir will pocket almost 70 per cent of the profits while Adi [Aditya Chopra] will keep the remaining percentage. Fact is, after Dangal made Rs 1000 crore, now few people question Aamir on his deals. If TOH makes that amount of money, Adi will get almost Rs 300 crore which is much more than any of his own home productions.”
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs of Hindostan also features Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and his Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles, apart from Aamir. The film is reportedly scheduled to release in 2018.
