We can so relate to Kirsten Dunst right now. You know how an iconic book, song or film is being remade and you’re skeptical about it from the very beginning? And when the book/song/film is finally released, you don’t give it a fair chance because you liked the original so much?

We can so relate to Kirsten Dunst right now. You know how an iconic book, song or film is being remade and you’re skeptical about it from the very beginning? And when the book/song/film is finally released, you don’t give it a fair chance because you liked the original so much?

That’s what Kirsten Dunst seems to be going through right now when the new Spider-Man film’s promotion is in the air. Dunst played the character of Mary-Jane Watson opposite Tobey Maguire in the original Spider-Man trilogy and she did a pretty good job of it.

So when she was recently asked what she thought of the reboot starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, the actor didn’t mince her words. “We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, ‘You make it all you want.’ They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?” she told Marie Claire.

What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time Dunst has expressed her displeasure. In a separate interview with Variety last month, Dunst claimed that nothing compares with the original.

“I don’t care. Everyone likes our Spider-Man. C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”
