Salman Khan has seen his fair share of flop films but the actor has definitely cemented a place for himself in Bollywood, particularly in the second half of his career. Salman Khan has seen his fair share of flop films but the actor has definitely cemented a place for himself in Bollywood, particularly in the second half of his career. He seems to have discovered a formula for making commercially successful films and his latest film’s trailer proves that he’s sticking to his strengths.

If one is to compare Salman Khan’s recent hits, they’ll discover a common narrative in all of them. He seems to be portraying the character of a very simple man, someone who isn’t the sharpest cookie but has a heart of gold and is always trying to help others. Sultan, Bhajrangi Bhaijaan and Bodyguard all displayed a similar trait and now his latest film Tubelight has a similar theme. We weren’t expecting anything different; the film is called Tubelight after all (which is slang for someone who isn’t very sharp).

Regardless, the Kabir Khan film has released its first trailer and despite the commonalities between other Salman Khan films, Tubelight looks intriguing. All we can tell from the trailer about the plot of the film is that it revolves around a simple man and that the film is set in an atmosphere where war lingers nearby as the film is based on the Indo-China war that took place in 1962.

We earlier read that Shah Rukh Khan will also be making an appearance in the film but sadly, we don’t see him in this trailer.

The film will be released on June 23, 2017.
