Given Qamar’s enormous talent, it’s not surprising that she has bagged multiple nominations at the upcoming 16th Annual Lux Style Awards, with dual nomination in the Best TV Actress category for Besharam and Mein Sitara. She’s also nominated in the category of Best Film Actress for her film, Lahore Se Aagey. Surprisingly the actress doesn’t plan to attend Lux Style Awards this year, scheduled to take place on April 19, because she doesn’t agree with the criteria of the show.
“I don’t think I should attend the ceremony as I fail to understand the criteria for the Best Actor trophy,” Qamar told Instep. “They nominate every time but they never give the award. I’m not just talking about myself but other great actors who never bag the trophy. I feel actors and actresses attached to projects with highest TRPs get the awards. I’m not against anyone but I believe they should take into account an actor’s graph, their variation as well as their caliber; I don’t understand the criteria so I feel it’s a waste of my time if I attend the ceremony.”
Qamar also noted that now when she has done a big project in India (Hindi Medium), they’re approaching her to attend the event. Otherwise they don’t even notice. “Why should I grace the event with my presence then?” Qamar concluded.
