Salman Ahmed shared the stage with some very influential people recently. The musician attended the Skoll World Forum, an annual gathering of around 1,000 social entrepreneurs in Oxford, and was seen hobnobbing with a lot of musical giants, such as Michael Franti, Don Henley, a founding member of the very famous band Eagles and U2’s Bono.

The musicians got together on stage, along with Jeff Skoll and Sally Osberg, Founder of Skoll Foundation and President and CEO of the Skoll Foundation respectively, to sing John Legend’s ‘Imagine’.

Bono was also awarded the prestigious Global Treasure Award by Skoll Foundation. The singer was recognised for his activism work on AIDS, poverty and gender equality.

The Skoll Foundation describes the award as being for “someone who would rightly be described as a global treasure”. The organisation says it doesn’t have “formal criteria” for this award, but “we just know when there is someone in our midst who is doing extraordinary things to address the world’s most pressing problems”.

What’s also interesting is that it appears that the two musicians are also working on a project together, as reported by a local newspaper.
