Film and TV actor Ali Kazmi, who appeared in Mehreen Jabbar’s Dobara Phir Se last year, has a lot going on. The actor who is currently playing a pivotal role in ongoing drama serial Moray Saiyaan, is all set to appear in at least two more TV plays plus a film this year. He’s currently busy shooting for his upcoming drama Baaghi that features Saba Qamar (who will soon be making her Bollywood debut with Hindi Medium alongside Irrfan Khan) opposite him.
“It’s a very interesting story written by Umera Ahmed while it’s being directed by Farooq Rind,” Kazmi told Instep in a telephonic conversation. “I can’t reveal much about the play at the moment except that it will be on air sometime in May.”
Kazmi revealed that Baaghi also stars actor-director Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, who was recently honored with the prestigious Pride of Performance honour.
Apart from Baaghi, Kazmi has also shot for another play called Aur Tum Meri Mohabbat Ho in which he essays the role of a lawyer/social activist. “The play revolves around the themes of power and class difference with an interesting love story,” the actor revealed.
As far as big screen projects are concerned, Kazmi is playing the protagonist in upcoming film Na Band Na Baraati that also stars Mikaal Zulfiqar. He has also been offered a few other big screen projects that he is still considering; he will announce his next pick soon.
