Singer-songwriter Farhan Saeed recently took Larkana by storm with a live concert that hosted a crazy crowd that showed up to catch a glimpse of the star. With a bunch of hit tracks to his credit, the award-winning singer has another feather in his cap. He has composed and also lent his vocals to duet ‘Thori Dair’ alongside Shreya Ghoshal for upcoming Bollywood film Half Girlfriend that stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.
Saeed recently shared the film’s poster on Instagram, hinting at his association with the project and a surprise for fans. He wrote, “It’s out and it’s beautiful! Stay tuned for the music launch of Half Girlfriend. You’re in for a surprise!”
Now we know what the surprise is. His song in the film ‘Thori Dair’ should be out by the end of this week. This is not Saeed’s first venture in Bollywood, but this time has collaborated with ace director Mohit Suri, so it’s bigger. Plus it comes as a confusing time of relations between India and Pakistan.
Farhan Saeed has come out with a Bollywood song at a time when things aren’t hunky dory; does he feel he’s in any way bridging gaps?
“The first time I went to India was in 2005; since then both the countries have seen all
kinds of highs and lows in their diplomatic relationship,” he told Instep. “So my first response when anything of this sort happens is that it shall pass too. Art has no boundaries; it is unfortunate what happened between these two countries and should be sorted on a diplomatic level. Including arts and sports into politics is really unfortunate. I am happy to bridge this gap with another venture; the sole reason to do this is to represent Pakistan internationally, and make my country proud.”
