Twilight actor Kristen Stewart was spotted in a dramatic new look on the red carpet of a recent event. Her short dark locks are now replaced by a platinum-blonde buzz. Though she has been making headlines ever since she sported her new look, there’s much more to it. Twilight actor Kristen Stewart was spotted in a dramatic new look on the red carpet of a recent event. Her short dark locks are now replaced by a platinum-blonde buzz. Though she has been making headlines ever since she sported her new look, there’s much more to it. In a recent interview at the Today Show, where she was present for the promotion of her new psychological thriller, Personal Shopper, Stewart shared why she cut off her hair.

“I’m doing a movie in a couple of weeks called Underwater and I play a mechanical engineer that’s working on an oil rig on the bottom of the ocean floor, so for me it’s practical,” she informed, adding that less hair would mean less fuss on set. “I mean, I’m not going to be able to have touch-ups once I put the helmet on so I must shave my head!”

However, Stewart admitted that it wasn’t mandatory to chop off her hair for the role even though the director, William Eubank suggest this to her. “I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, just for novel sake; just because at some point in your life you want to be able to do that,” she explained. “It feels amazing. I just want to head bang all day.”

Stewart has become more vocal about her life with the public, unlike the time when she was promoting Twilight films. “People started really caring about the details of my life when I was pretty young,” she recalled. “And since then, the media and our interaction with celebrity has changed enormously, even in that short time period. So I kind of have navigated it naturally and adapted.”

Coming to back to her latest project, Stewart has so far received much appreciation for her role in Olivier Assayas’s Personal Shopper in which she essays the role of a stylist in Paris who is trying to communicate with the spirit of her recently deceased twin.
