Even though everyone was unsure about the final match taking place in Lahore due to the unstable security situation of the country, the Pakistan Super League closing ceremony concluded without incident. The final match was held between Quetta Gladiator and Peshawar Zalmi, with the latter winning the bejeweled Swarovski trophy.

While it was earlier revealed that pop icon Ali Zafar will not be performing at the closing ceremony because he was busy shooting for his upcoming film Teefa in Trouble, Zafar ended up making an appearance on the PSL stage and that too for free. He sang the official anthem of the PSL, ‘Ab Khel Jamay Ga’ in front of a full house of around 30,000 spectators.

Alongside Ali Zafar, rockstar Ali Azmat also took the stage to sing his rendition of the popular Sufi song ‘Dam a Dam Mast Qalandar.’

Thankfully, the closing ceremony was just as star-studded as one would have hoped it to be. Farhad Humayun of Overload also took the stage to deliver an energetic performance, while singer Faakhir also entertained the audiences with his hit number ‘Tere Bina Dil Na Lage.’The evening was hosted by comedian Ahmed Ali Butt and the lovely Ayesha Omar.
