Known for his versatility and incredible range as an actor, Ahsan Khan is taking up diverse projects that go beyond acting. He was recently featured in a lawn shoot for Rungrez lawn that has a social cause attached to it and has also produced quite a few plays and short films. Apart from his upcoming films, Chupan Chupai and Rehbara, Khan’s other projects include a play, titled Rani, that he’s producing in collaboration with Miraj ud din – the two won the Best TV Serial Terrestrial award for their play ‘Mar Jaen Hum Toh Kya’ at the 13th edition of the Lux Style Awards.
“The play [Rani] tells the story of people living in a village,” Khan told Instep. “It has elements of a conservative society and talks about norms set for women by the society. It’s an entertaining tale that is set in a village, however, the depiction is grand and it is being shot at a haweli in Lahore.”
As for the cast of Rani, Khan shared that several actors are attached to the project with some newcomers also featuring in the play. The cast includes Babar Ali, film actress Sahiba (who’ll be returning to TV after a long time), Sangeeta, Saba Faisal and many others. Directed by Faisal Bokhari, Rani will air sometime in April, this year.
Besides Rani, Khan is also gearing up for another short film (after Chashm-e-Nam) under his own production banner. The untitled project is a love story that will feature Khan in the lead role.
