It seems as though all of Hollywood is standing against President Donald Trump. One recent example was Meryl Streep’s powerful speech at the Golden Globes that took note of the anxieties felt by many in this Trump era.

However, matters are beginning to get worse as Trump takes control of the higest office in the land.

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf has just been charged with assault and harassment after being arrested during an anti-Trump protest in New York. However, the actor has now been released.

The New York Police Department stated that LaBeouf had gotten involved in a dispute in which he attacked a man.

A police spokesperson said that during the incident, a 25-year-old man sustained scratches after a verbal confrontation escalated to a physical confrontation.

Apparently, a member of the public walked in front of the camera and said something the actor objected to. LaBeouf then allegedly took hold of the man’s scarf. Police also added that LaBeouf proceeded to push the man, who refused medical attention.

According to the BBC, LaBeouf has been appearing in a live video stream titled ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ since Trump officially entered office.

‘He Will Not Divide Us’ is a live video stream that is being broadcasting from the Museum of Moving Image in New York and has been co-founded by the actor. The point of the stream is to protest against Trump’s presidential campaign and controversial policies. Other celebrities, such as Jaden Smith, have also made appearances on this stream.
