As drama serial Thora Sa Aasman - that centered upon the stories of multiple women and their miserable lives - comes to an end, a new drama with a unique theme is all set to take its place. Titled Mera Kia Qasoor Tha, the upcoming play stars the versatile Zahid Ahmed, Sonia Mishal of Izn-e-Rukhsat fame and Atiqa Odho in pivotal roles and tackles the pertinent and sensitive issue of child marriage(s) as one of its central themes.

Mera Kia Qasoor Tha traces the story of a girl who is a victim of child marriage, at least according to the teasers that have come out so far. Now grown up, she is a quiet teacher in the play and remains silent most of the time. When a fellow teacher (played by Ahmed) hopes to pursue a friendship with her, she refuses to entertain such notions. When asked by a friend why she is hesitant to socialize or interact with others, it’s made clear that the girl got married when she was a child.

Ahmed, on the other hand, seems to be headstrong and aggressive. When Odho (apparently his mother) asks him to attend some meeting, he refuses right away, making her angry. Tackling the issue of child marriage, Mera Kia Qasoor Tha seem to carry an important message and may serve as an agent of change. The drama is worth a watch because of its unique theme if not anything else. It will air every Saturday and Sunday on Geo TV, starting from November 19.
