Dispelling all doubts regarding the dates (and possibility) of Fashion Pakistan Week Winter Festive 2016 taking place, the Fashion Pakistan Council recently confirmed that the show would indeed take place in Karachi between October 30 to November 1, 2016. Speculation had arisen due to the untimely resignation of former Chairperson and CEO – Sanam Chaudhri and Wardha Saleem – respectively, but a new board has been sworn in and it confirms that the show will be held on schedule. Originally planned for October 28-29, fashion week was probably delayed one day to accommodate the Hum Style Awards, to be held on October 28.
“Fashion Pakistan Council is celebrating 10 years of style with 2016 being the 11th fashion week,” a press released stated, announcing the new Fashion Pakistan Council board members: Maheen Khan, Maheen Karim, Nauman Arfeen, Obaid Sheikh, Aamna Aqeel with Deepak Perwani as the Chairperson and Nida Azwer as the CEO.
“Fashion week is already in process and I want to start bridging gaps,” a very enthusiastic and excited Nida Azwer spoke to Instep. “I want everyone to work together; designers and media. Everyone has to work together to achieve a good base for designers so that the business of fashion can be strengthened. We need to work as a team. I’m a mild and mellow person who gets along with everybody and I would like to build good relations with everyone.”
