With Karan Johar’s much-talked about love saga, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, releasing on the same day as Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, ties between the two have soured. The war developed when Devgn tweeted a link to a taped conversation in which Kamaal R Khan, the notorious self-proclaimed critic despised by mainstream Bollywood, accepted taking a payment from Karan Johar for badmouthing Devgn’s film.

When asked for a response, Johar responded in the following words: “My self respect, reputation, company reputation and my upbringing doesn’t allow me to dignify this question with a response.”

Meanwhile, Kamaal R. Khan, in a press conference, came out strongly against Ajay Devgn and explained that he was never paid by Karan Johar for trashing Shivaay.

“He had slapped a legal case against YRF in which his contention was that in a competition you can’t do anything that is not fair. He wants to do something similar in this case too,” said Khan. “He wants to fire the gun off my shoulders with Karan as the target. He wants to show that with Karan paying me money the rules of the competition have not been fair and wants to prove the same in the court of law.”

Khan also attacked Devgn and described him as a money monster. “Ajay Devgn was a 2 rupees person before joining the industry and today he is a billionaire. The only connect he has is that of money. He has never helped anyone. He has no emotional connect. He is only interested in money. During Jab Tak Hai Jaan after the demise of Yash Chopra, everyone requested Ajay to shift the date of Son of Sardaar but he didn’t. That is his emotional connection with the industry."

While this drama unfolds, other reports suggest that this riff between Devgn and Johar has also affected Kajol who is appalled by Johar’s behavior. Time will tell which film finds a bigger chunk of audience upon release but from the looks of it, it’s Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that has fans excited on both sides of the border.
