It should come as no shock that Saeen Zahoor is going to be lending his vocals to an upcoming Bollywood film as he proved his mettle and appealed to a larger audience after his first appearance on Coke Studio. Thankfully, he is working with some big names as the song is going to appear in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya. Mehra has directed some of the biggest hits in India, such as Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

The film’s music will be composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and will also be featuring Akhtar Chanal Zehri. “Zahoor is an interesting character. He is truly immersed in his own music and world. Until 2006, he never recorded in a studio. The unique thing is, when you teach him the lyrics of the song, he draws pictures instead of writing syllables. That’s how he remembers the words. He was truly a delight to work with,” explained Shankar, as reported by The Asian Age.

Shankar seems equally excited for Zehri’s inclusion as well. “Akhtar bhai’s voice has an amazing texture, which represents Afghanistan. We had to compose the pieces around these two exquisite singers’ voices so that their presence doesn’t look forced into the song.”
