It was not long ago that B-town actress Parineeti Chopra took to social media to share her ‘fat-to-fit’ story and what motivated her to bring the physical change in her life. She shunned haters and wrote about her struggles as an overweight person and on how reinventing herself has made her feel healthier and more confident. The heartfelt message inspired many and landed the actress a lot of appreciation from fans and media alike. But knowing that life hasn’t been easy on her as far as weight issues are concerned, it’s rather surprising that she was quick to remark on a friend’s physical appearance in a video message for her birthday.

In the video which also has Alia Bhatt wishing the birthday girl along with a few other friends, Parineeti advises her friend to “eat less and become thin”. Naturally, her comment hasn’t gone down too well with her fans, who have blamed her for irresponsible behaviour, insensitivity and body shaming. Twitteratis have bashed her for being “fake” and “too obsessed with body image”.

After struggling with the perfect Bollywood-suited figure, Parineeti went on a rigorous weight loss regime for nine months and eventually showed off her chiselled body in a photo shoot. She was even awarded the Style Icon of the Year at Stardust Award which led to veteran actor Rishi Kapoor mocking her for winning an award for losing weight.
