With Coke Studio entering its ninth year, plenty of artists will be seen making their first appearance on the popular music platform.
With over 30 names appearing this season alone alongside six producers, a slew of industry insiders will get a chance to showcase their musicianship on the show.
Among them is music group Mizmaar’s leader and guitarist Kashan Admani who, having worked with a diverse range of artists such as Strings and Usman Riaz, is no stranger to the music scene. This year, Admani is playing guitars on 15 songs over the course of Coke Studio’s ninth season and will be collaborating with a crop of musicians including producers Jaffer Zaidi, Shuja Haider, Faakhir, Shaani Arshad and Shiraz Uppal.
In a press statement, Admani while reflecting on his Coke Studio experience noted: “It was great to be a part of Coke Studio 9. I have worked with Strings in different capacities before but CS was a totally different experience. They are great people to work with and have taken CS to a different level.”
Admani, who plays music with Mizmaar and recently collaborated with Shubha Mudgal on the song ‘Jogi’,’ explained how he enjoyed the process of working with other artists and their compositions.
“I enjoyed playing on different composers’ music as lately I have only been doing my own music,” he noted. “The opportunity to use my abilities as a musician for other composers was indeed a lot of fun.”
