Taylor Swift’s pristine, all American sweetheart image has recently come into fire from all avenues. If her feud with ex-beau Calvin Harris wasn’t enough, the ongoing drama with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian is back to plague her.
Swift was embroiled in a fresh controversy involving the duo earlier in the year when she claimed that she had no knowledge that West would use her name in his song’s lyrics. West vehemently denied the claim and insisted that the lyric was only made public after Swift’s blessings, obtained over a phone call. Swift even went so far as to reference the song indirectly in her victory speech at the Grammy’s, stating that there would always be people who would try taking credit for your success.
Kardashian spoke about the matter at length in one of her interviews published a month ago. She claimed that Swift was lying and using her husband as a scapegoat to cement her position as the victim. The blonde crooner’s representatives were quick to rubbish the claim but Kardashian dropped a major bomb yesterday when she posted a video on her Snapchat that documented their conversation.
In the video, West raps the lyrics to her and Swift commends him for choosing to reveal the lines to her in advance, stating she would’ve never expected it. West adds that sometimes relationships are more important than punchlines and the conversation concludes with the two of them on an amicable note.
Swift immediately posted a note on her Instagram negating the video, still claiming that she didn’t know he would refer to her as “that bitch” but the damage is done. Swift’s dishonesty has been laid bare and there’s no turning back.
