Trashed for making Phantom and celebrated for making Bajrangi Bhaijaan, filmmaker Kabir Khan’s career trajectory is on an upward spiral, thanks to one Salman Khan who will continue to work with the now-controversial director.
After Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the duo will collaborate again, this time with a film called Tubelight. In an interview with Instep earlier this year, the director revealed that he has signed Khan for his next film and the team is currently working on the script. He also shared that the upcoming film is in the same space as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, at least in terms of human drama and the emotion quotient.
“It’s a lovely, warm story with a lot of humour and emotions,” explained Khan.
However, there is more to this story than just humour and emotion. According to a report in The Indian Express, Kabir Khan explained the story of the film in the following cryptic words, “It is about a personal issue. I can’t talk about what exactly it is right now.”
What we can tell you is that like most Kabir Khan films, this one will have some sort of political undertone to it as well as a Chinese element as Salman’s character embarks on a journey from India to China. Expected to release on Eid next year, the film will be shot in Ladakh before heading to Kashmir and Ajmer and will mark the third collaboration between the director and the cherished actor.
