Actor and writer Yasir Hussain, who recently finished shooting for the sequel to Karachi Se Lahore – Lahore Se Aagey – and made the industry laugh out loud, albeit briefly, at the recent Lux Style Awards Nominee Reveal event in Karachi, is not going to Bollywood, at least not in the way that’s been reported.

The strong rumours that suggest that Yasir Hussain was all set to try his luck across the border and was soon going to start shooting in India for an upcoming venture, are somewhat misrepresenting.

Talking to Instep, the actor cleared the confusion and noted, “It is definitely not my Bollywood debut and the news has reached so far despite all my attempts at clarification that I’ve given up! It’s definitely painting me in great light so I guess I shouldn’t complain but the upcoming movie is certainly not a Bollywood flick.”

The actor explained that at best the film in question can be considered a joint venture or a cross-border collaboration. Shot mostly in Mumbai, the film features a cast of Indian actors with Hussain playing the role of an Indian.

“It would be considered my Indian debut though if Bhansali was directing the film, but the guy helming this is called Rizwan, how Bollywood is that?” Hussain chuckled.

Hussain further joked that all this rumoured hype was hurting his visa application and
requested that the story be allowed to die down until his passport came back. “I’m barely an actor in Pakistan, how I can already jump the line?” he concluded, amused.

Bollywood might not exactly be on the cards for Hussain but as far as we’re concerned, he’s definitely a rising star worth watching.
