After a much-appreciated solo act in Khoobsurat, Fawad Khan was last seen in the super successful multi-starrer, Kapoor & Sons, and his next Bollywood venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, also features an ensemble cast. Though the presence of other Bollywood biggies did not take away from Fawad’s role in Kapoor & Sons, it may not always be the case.
However, in a recent interview with IANS, the Pakistani heartthrob remarked that its about striking a balance. “I don't think a multi-starrer or a solo film has anything to do with your choice of films,” said Fawad and added, “That is a bit of a primitive concept, really. Yes, you might want to keep a healthy balance, but that has more to do with the kind of roles you are playing.”
Noting that content matters more than anything, Khan reiterating his point and added, “The film's content is the king. Karan (filmmaker Karan Johar) happened to offer me Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and since I had a good rapport with Dharma Productions, it went on from there. I choose films preferably based on content and then I see the kind of team I have to work with.”
Unlike a number of our stars who almost always have a foot in their mouth, Khan has always made a conscious effort of speaking intelligently and steering away from unnecessary controversies.
In another interview with First Post, the actor spoke on growing objectivity in cinema, stressing that audiences too have to become more responsible with their expectations. “When you come to watch a film, come for a film, not porn. It maybe the maximum reservation I have that when people become so obsessed with the way people are looking on screen rather than seeing what they are, what they’re playing, then I feel they’re coming to watch porn rather than mainstream cinema.”
Khan has managed to break taboos with just his second film in Bollywood. Word also has it that Khan may be reuniting with K&S makers Shakun Batra and Karan Johar for another project.
