Speaking of superheroes, can the X-Men be far behind? The re-vitalised X-Men series starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence is the perfect boost the comic book franchise needed. But if the last film was about the greater good, this one is about all hell breaking loose. Going by the new trailer, which is action-packed and moody in equal breaths, Apocalypse will be darker than its predecessors and no, Wolverine will not feature, not even in a cameo.
In addition to the curious insertion of the myth of the four horsemen, the film features Oscar Isaac in the titular role of Apocalypse, who, according to the new trailer, is the ultimate villain who will rid the earth of humans and build a better mutant world.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, whose loyalty to Magneto and Professor Xavier has dominated the past films, will get more focused as she leads the X-Men to a noble mission that saves the planet from total annihilation. Of course, the main news is that film serves as a launch pad for several new mutants like Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Channing Tatum's Gambit. Its success will pave way for future films.
