Like many of his contemporaries such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Michael Fassbender, Jared Leto, has a tendency to really envelope himself into a role he’s enacting on the big screen. Having won an Oscar for a beautiful performance in Dallas Buyers Club, the 44-year-old star is set to take over the big screen later this year with the all-star feature, Suicide Squad. Considered a method actor, Jared took his role in the film to heart and introduced himself to the cast of the film by sending them some pretty strange (read: horrific) presents.
Actress Viola Davis, who currently stars in Shonda Rhimes’ production How to Get Away with Murder and is a member of the SS cast revealed in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that the cast received a dead swine from Leto. “The henchman came in with a dead pig and plopped it on the table and then he walked out. And that was our introduction to Jared Leto,” Davis told VF.
That’s not all. Will Smith (who plays Deadshot) received bullets while Margot Robbie received a black rat. All this was done by Leto to get into the skin of The Joker and his version will be as psychotic as it gets.
Slated to release this August, Suicide Squad chronicles the rise of several super-villains and just might land Leto his second Oscar nod.
