KARACHI: Sindh Track and Field Club, in association with Karachi Amateur Athletic Association and Sind Athletic Association, is organizing its annual Inter School and Open Track and Field championship on November 7th at Pakistan Sports Board’s National Coaching Center (NCC).
Like always, events are categorized in Under 17 (boys and girls) and Open (men and women) age brackets with the first category aimed at school students and the second targeted for colleges, universities and club teams.
The full day event will feature track and field teams from leading schools, colleges and universities in Karachi and appears to be an exciting beginning for a brighter future for the local athletic scene.
In addition to medal and championship trophies, this time the club is also offering cash prizes.
Break the NCC field records in 100m, 200m and 400m sprints. In addition to medals, take home a cash prize if you can beat the best time officially recorded at the field. You will have to stand up and compete against the fastest men and women in Karachi to claim your title.
If you are not an athlete, block the date and come, show your support for local sprint stars and be wowed by them.
NCC has been the venue for many athletic meets in recent years. Given the design of the track, starting lineups for 100m and 200m sprints always face a headwind. This historically results in slower times in sprint events in Karachi compared to similar tracks in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
Come break the barrier at the Karachi Track and Field championships on 7th November at 9:00 AM sharp.
The weather is expected to be mild, but the competition promises to be blazingly hot.
