Meesha Shafi tells court 'no eyewitnesses' in harassment incident
“Yes, even I myself am not an eye witness to this incident. I felt it [but] I did not see it," says singer
Singer Meesha Shafi, during a hearing on a defamation case filed by Ali Zafar against her, confirmed to the court that there were "no eyewitnesses" to the alleged harassment that took place during a jamming session with singer Ali Zafar.
When asked by the court to confirm whether it is correct that there were no eyewitnesses to the incident, Meesha responded by saying: “Yes, even I myself am not an eye witness to this incident. I felt it [but] I did not see it.”
The Jugni Ji singer was also asked about the alleged "groping" that she has accused Ali of.
“Did you look behind to see if it was the plaintiff’s hand,” the lawyer asked. "There was no other hand near me and it certainly was not my hand," she responded.
“Is it correct that there was a drummer sitting behind you and the plaintiff,” the counsel then asked to which Meesha replied that a drummer was at least “4-5 feet away”.
All witnesses from the day Meesha claims she was harassed, have opposed her accusations.
They have said that Shafi even hugged Zafar right after the session ended.
