LAHORE: Former speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who was de-seated following an election tribunal verdict in NA-122 against him, on Friday said that reports by the judicial commission and NADRA were completely ignored by the tribunal before issuing its verdict.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said neither was he or his party blamed for poll rigging nor was it mentioned anywhere in the tribunal’s verdict, but still a Rs2.4 million penalty was imposed on him.
“Judges don’t write anecdotes, their verdicts are sufficient enough to represent them,” said the PML-N leader.
Dismissing reports, Sadiq said he did not seek any stay order from the apex court and has decided to go to the ‘people’s court’.
