American singer Demi Lovato’s new docuseries sheds light on her dark past with drug abuse.
The singer spoke in the YouTube Originals documentary, Dancing with the Devil, about how right before her overdose in 2018 she went on a “drug shopping spree.”
The former Disney star was found by paramedics unconscious on July 24, 2018 following a heroin overdose.
"I had a photoshoot and I remember being at the photoshoot and just thinking to myself, like, I don't even know why I'm sober anymore. I am so miserable. I'm not happy. I have all this stuff that I am dealing with,” she said.
"I picked up a bottle of red wine that night, and it wasn't even 30 minutes before I called someone that I knew had drugs on them,” she said.
“I ended up at a party. I just so happened to run into my old drug dealer from six years before,” she continued.
Lovato further revealed how her memory of sobriety soon became hazy: "He had a duffel bag, and I just went to town, I went on a shopping spree."
"That night, I did drugs that I had never done before. I had never done meth before. I tried meth. I mixed it with Molly, with coke, weed, alcohol, OxyContin, and that alone should have killed me,” she said.
