LONDON: India defeated Australia by 36 runs in a high scoring mega clash in the 14th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 here at The Oval on Sunday.
Chasing a huge total of 353, Australia were all out for 316 runs in exact 50 overs after showing a great fight back.
Earlier, India piled up 352 for five in fifty overs as it was the second highest total in the current tournament. The highest score was made by England just yesterday when they plundered 386 for six against Bangladesh at Cardiff.
Opener Shikhar Dhawan made a brilliant century, scoring 117 off 109 balls with the help of 16 fours.
Both teams fielded the same eleven that played the last games as the captains expressed confidence in their players.
