PESHAWAR: Heavy storms and rains on Tuesday killed at least 6 people, including a child, and injured over 50 others in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The torrential rains damaged properties in the provincial capital Peshawar and its surrounding areas causing roofs and walls of houses to cave in — in some cases killing those inside.
Heavy rain that began Tuesday evening triggered flash floods, turning some streets into raging rivers, toppling trees and causing electricity outage as number of feeders tripped in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) three people were killed in Peshawar , two in Swabi and one person lost his life in Kohat, 42 injured were brought in different hospitals of Peshawar.
