MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Wasif Mazhar Raan secured the PP-218 seat for the by-polls held earlier on Sunday.
As per reports, the unofficial results of the by-election held in Multan on the vacant seat of PP-218 was secured by the PTI leader by 46,988 votes from 138 polling stations.
Raan defeated Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Arshad Raan who maintained the second spot with a total of 39,486 votes.
The polling had begun early on Sunday at 8am and wrapped up at 5pm in 138 polling stations out of which 32 were considered sensitive and had at least a thousand security officials positioned around them.
PP-218 seat in Multan had become vacant after the death of PTI leader Mazhar Abbas Raan.
