ISLAMABAD: A military parade was held as part of Pakistan Day celebrations in Islamabad where Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was the Guest of Honor.
Top civil-military leadership, including President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Army Chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa and the chiefs of Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force witnessed the parade.
The Bahraini army chief, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and federal minister, including Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, were also in attendance.
Air Chief saluted Pakistan President from the cockpit of F-16 while flying over the parade venue.
President Arfi Arif Alvi addressed the parade, hightailing the services rendered by the founding fathers of Pakistan and the importance of Pakistan Day.
He said Pakistan respects sovereignty all the country but it is not oblivious to its defence .
The president said Pakistan has overcome the menace of terrorism but there was still a lot of work to be done.
The president paid tribute on behalf of the nation to the armed forces for the response which they gave India after Pulwama attack.
