RAWALPINDI: Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir Thursday appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability, reaffirming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support to Pakistan.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, which was held here at the General Headquarters.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest; regional security and current situation between Pakistan and India.
The COAS thanked the minister for taking on the mantle of peace effort in very difficult circumstances, saying that Saudi Arabia had always been a true friend of Pakistan.
Earlier, taking note of Pakistan’s peace overtures to de-escalate the situation with India, Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adil Al Jubeir called on his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi and assured the Kingdom’s support for peaceful settlement of all disputes between the two neighbouring countries.
The Saudi Minister's visit is the follow-up of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman's visit to Pakistan.
Adel Al Jubeir conveying sincere wishes of Saudi Crown Prince to the leadership and people of Pakistan, expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s restraint in the existing environment.
The Saudi Minister of State also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
