ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a telephonic contact, sources said Thursday.
Sources said PM Imran Khan Turkish leader exchanged views on Pak-India tensions.
Imran Khan took Erdogan into confidence over his peace efforts with India, sources said.
The sources privy to the development added that Turkish President Erdogan lauded PM Imran Khan for his peace efforts and dialogues offer to India.
PM Imran Khan on Thursday announced to release captured Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Friday as a peace gesture.
The pilot was taken into custody by Pakistani forces after his jet was downed on Thursday.
The decision of Prime Minister Imran Khan has been widely lauded on social media on both sides of the board.
