KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan, at a ceremony held to welcome the crown prince at PM House on Sunday night, had made a ‘humble request’ to Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to look into the hardships faced by families of detained Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia, after which Crown Prince Salman immediately ordered the release of 2,107 Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia.
From politicians to general public reactions have started falling in on twitter to express their gratitude and views on what Pakistanis feel is a break through by Prime Minister Imran Khan- having our prisoners released from Saudi Arabia.
Senator Sherry Rehman from PPP being in the opposition, appreciates the release of Pakistani prisoners held in Saudi Arabia. The rest of cases she says should be reviewed.
She at the same time blamed the government for not using the opportunity to look at this as an all of Pakistan visit.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says that the people of Pakistan are thankful to Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Bin Salman for ordering the immediate release the detained Pakistani’s.
