MUMBAI: Bollywood’s celebrated actor Rani Mukherjee’s striking return on the silver screens has received a relatively good response at the box office, in spite of the hiatus she had been on since the past four years.
The 40-year-old actor’s comeback film ‘Hichki’ was off to a relatively good start at the box office, earning a business of Rs 3.30 crore on its first day of release, managing to accumulate more than most films.
Despite her nonappearance on screen since the past four years, Mukherjee’s performance as Naina Mathur had made a lasting impact on the minds of several film critics who termed her performance as plausible and not overdone.
Meanwhile Mukherjee has expressed her delight at the welcome her film has received and has revealed in an interview with an Indian media outlet that the success of her film certifies that in the end it is only good cinema and good performances that truly matter to people.
