"The Worldwide Cost of Living" report released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has ranked Karachi as the sixth cheapest city in the world.
According to the report, cheap cities tend to be less fit for human habitation.
Accoriding the report, instability is becoming an increasingly prominent factor in lowering the reltive cost of living of a location
Karachi, Algiers, Almaty and Lagos have faced well-documented economic, political, security and infrastructural challenges, and there is some correlation between The Economist Intelligence Unit’s cost of living ranking and its sister ranking, the liveability survey, the report stated.
On the other hand, Singapore was named the most expensive city to live in for the fifth time in a row; whereas the fluctuating state of the US dollar has kept its cities, out of the top ten.
