A cat from Minnesota has landed herself in the list of Guinness World Records for having a total of 28 toes on its paws.
The three-year-old, polydactyl cat named Paws, was born with three extra toes on each fore paw and an additional on the back and at present is tied with another cat on the list of Guinness World Records for felines with most toes.
Paws’ owner Jeanne Martin, resident of Northfield Minnesota, reported that the genetic trait helps Paws grip on to narrow surfaces better.
The polydactyl felines are also referred to as ‘Hemingway cats’ in honor of the American writer Ernest Hemingway who was known to have kept one of them at his Key West home.
