Sadiq Khan calls on PM
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan met with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at PM House in Islamabad on Thursday.
ISLAMABAD: The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan met with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at PM House in Islamabad on Thursday.
During the meeting, both the leaders held discussion on trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan. PM Abbasi said that successful efforts to eradicate the menace of terrorism have made Pakistan an opportune destination for UK businesses.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi further said that Pakistan gives great importance to its relations with the United Kingdom, adding that every Pakistani is proud of his [Sadiq Khan) success as Mayor of London.
Lauding the efforts of government to bring prosperity in the country, Sadiq Khan said, “I am impressed by the remarkable progress achieved by the Government in different areas, especially in infrastructure, technology and energy.”
He assured the Prime Minister that he would work towards fostering closer links between London and Pakistan.
