New Zealand Police are striving to increase staff numbers over the next three years to meet the objective of being the safest country, and to deliver on the government’s beckoned staffing increase.
In a bid to attract more applicants, NZ police have released a clip they're calling the "world's most entertaining police recruitment video".
Created by Ogilvy & Mather New Zealand and directed by The Sweet Shop's Damian Shatford, this humorous video objective is to rope in more candidates for the country's police force.
The stars in the video include more than 70 police officers as well as New Zealand's Police Commissioner. Other appearances include sportspersons - players from the women's rugby team, social media star William Waiirua, Armed Offenders Squad, dive and dog squads, Eagle helicopter crews and frontline officers pull the heavy lifting in the video, demonstrating day-to-day police work.
Emphasizing on empathy and community, the video also features the quirky Kiwi sense of humor in scenes including a solo dance at a pedestrian crossing, a cat wearing a police vest, and an interrupted performance from the New Zealand Police Pipe Band.
