MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has categorically said that Pakistan People’s Party does not want early general elections but wishes each party completes her term and the clash of institutions is not in the great interest of masses and country.

Talking to journalists at the inauguration of People’s Secretariat in Gujjar Khada on Tuesday, he said if Mian Nawaz Sharif wants to talk with Asif Ali Zardari or Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, first he should talk to him.

PPP did not close doors of developing consensus and solution of problems through mutual understandings. He said the PPP is the only party firmly implemented the Charter of Democracy with letter and spirit. No other party then PPP had implemented the CoD.

Pakistan army takes wise step at suitable time and solved the matter through dialogues, he said.

Gilani said the present situation has indicated critical crisis of energy and gas across the country.

While backing the Operation Radul Fasad, he said the operation must continue at any cost to end terrorism networks. The country has lost Mohterma Benazir Bhutto due to terrorism.

Pakistan, India and Afghanistan must sit together to settle terrorism problem. The country was facing terrorism due to ignoring philosophy and proposals of Mohterma Benazir Bhutto.

He said some enemy wants clash of institutions in the country to invite anarchy and bloodshed in the country. The country needs more unity and solidarity at this crucial juncture. The economy of the country cannot be improved until improvement in political affairs.

He said PPP believes on respect of institutions in spite of judiciary treatment with Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and him.

“We should not scandalize other institutions, we should strengthen our institutions. We believe on respect to constitution and strengthening institutions. We should avoid from clash of institutions”.
