Trust Deficit among MQM Pakistan - United yet Divided

Be it a need of time or a compulsion, post 22 August scenario compelled Farooq Sattar and Co. to sit around one table. They call it survival of MQM Pakistan after Altaf Hussain has made anti Pakistan speech from London. Though the ways are parted explicitly but doubts on loyalties still haunts integrity of a political party being run from PIB Colony.

It comes out in a recent meeting of MQM Pak Rabitta Committee in makeshift Headquarters. Source told this scribe that 25 members - MNAs and MPAs included - attended the meeting at Farooq Sattar's residence. In meeting, one of the Members of National Assembly was severely criticized and warned on his London-leaned-tweets, according to source.

The MNA who faced the music had already been expelled from the party for his pro Altaf statements on media but later he was restored on his position. This time he was in hard waters over his tweet which read, ‘Founder of MQM is still his obligator’. He was strictly warned not make such comments again on any medium.

To the astonishment of everyone in meeting, the MQM figure rebutted on the face of leadership. “I am at least honest and fair among you,” he is reported to have said. “Fear from those who are sitting among us and reporting to someone else.” The MNA further said that he knows who is answerable to London and that he knows who meets Pak Sarzameen Party leaders in later hours of nights.

That unexpected reaction of MNA left a silence followed by gazes. "Believe me, (MQM fraction in) London and PSP would have complete details of this meeting, courtesy to some among us," he continued.

Reliable source told this scribe that this speech left MQM Pakistan's Convener Farooq Sattar in deep silence. Later, the MNA was merely instructed to be careful in future sans any action taken against him.

MQM Spokesman has confirmed that a day-long meeting held on Sunday but denied of any skirmish situation. While the few of the attendees of meeting have confirmed exchange of heated arguments on the condition of anonymity.
