KARACHI: Police on Thursday launched a ‘combing operation’ in Ghosia Colony adjacent to the Central Jail Karachi, senior officials said.
The operation was launched after midnight as over 200 officers from six police stations of Gulshan Town gathered in the area and closed entry and exit points.
Dr Fahad, a senior police official in Gulshan Twon, said identities of suspects were being verified through biometric devices during the combing operation.
Police killed eight suspected terrorists in Malir district of the city during a raid on Wednesday morning.
The operation was led by senior anti-terror police official Rao Anwar who claimed that a senior leader of a banned outfit was also among those killed by police in Malir.
