KARACHI: Prominent historian and educationist Dr Hamida Khuhro passed away Sunday after a protracted illness.
Daughter of former chief minister Sindh, Muhammad Ayub Khoro, she was known as the authority on history, and has also served twice as the Sindh education minister.
A PhD in South Asian History from the University of London, she taught at the Oxford University for some time and then joined Sindh University.
A prolific writer, Hameeda penned several books on history. She worked on child education and wrote books on all the four provinces for children, which were available both in Urdu and English.
