LONDON: Nadeem Nusrat, a close aide of MQM supremo Altaf Hussain, has asked all the party leaders who have left the founder of the movement to "correct their mistakes and rejoin the caravan”, in what he called the last appeal.
He asked the MQM leaders who had expressed disassociation from Altaf Hussain to submit their apologies to rejoin the party founder, without elaborating on his future course of action.
However, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan paid no heed to Nusrat’s appeal and went on to appoint Dr. Farooq Sattar as convener of its Rabita Committee.
In What appeared to be major reshuffle post-August 22 rant of Ataf Hussain against the country, The MQM Pakistan Rabita Committee named Dr. Farooq Sattar as its convener and named Amir Khan as senior deputy convener.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui was designated as deputy convener. Sattar, who has been heading the Pakistan chapter of the party, made the announcement at a press conference here on Saturday.
The party inducted Kishwar Zehra, Faisal Sabzwari and Abdul Wasim in the Rabita Committee, which oversees major organisational affairs.
The MQM Pakistan also revoked basic party membership of Ashraf Noor and Akram Rajpoot. The two had been members of the Rabita Committee.
