DG ISPR ‘certain’ about Indian casualties in LoC attack

BAGHSAR: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa on Saturday briefed the journalists over unprovoked firing and shelling by Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC) in which soldiers were martyred.

Briefing the journalists, the military spokesman said, “Pakistan troops responded to Indian firing and shelling in befitting manner.”

The independent journalists were taken to the LoC at Baghsar 20 kilometers from Bhimber to show the situation on ground.

General Bajwa was certain that Indian soldiers would have lost lives when Pakistani forces retaliated cross border firing by Indian forces.

He added that the Indian army was not accepting loss of lives at their end. “We are certain they have suffered casualties.”

He said why India was not admitting to this is a question which needs to be asked to them.

General Bajwa said that India should not be under any illusion that it can invade its territory because the forces know how to protect every inch of motherland.

Asim Bajwa said the military responded befittingly to Indian firing and added only to support false claims of surgical strikes India was hiding its losses.

He said the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond any aggression.

Reacting to Indian claims, DG ISPR chief said if anyone had crossed the LoC he would have been visible to someone, referring to heavily guarded boundary line between the two nuclear capable countries.

He stressed that while Pakistan has brought journalists to the LoC and is showing them the situation on ground, India is not allowing the same access to its own people which is suspicious.
