LAHORE: Ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates Yousuf Kuseliya and Raja Matloob Mehdi have won the by-elections in PP-232 Vehari-I and NA-63 Jhelum-II, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.
According to the unofficial and unconfirmed results of all 157 polling stations of PP-232 constituency, Yousuf Kuseliya secured 51, 323 votes.
Ayesha Nazir Jutt of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured the second position after getting 50, 267 votes.
Meanwhile, in NA-63 Jhelum-II, Raja Matloob of PML-N secured 82, 896 votes followed by PTI candidate Fawad Chaudhary with 74,819, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results of all 314 polling stations.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Punjab office, the total number of registered voters was 427,757 for NA-63 Jhelum-II.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Malik Iqbal Mehdi who secured NA-63 seat by getting 116,013 votes in the general elections 2013.
On the other hand, seat of PP-232 fell vacant after MPA Yousuf Kaseliya was disqualified for concealing assets.
The total number of registered voters for the provincial seat is 191,092.
