Maya Jama confirms return to 'The Gentlemen' amid Meghan Markle rumours
Maya Jama signs on for season three of 'The Gentlemen' while Meghan Markle's future on the project remains uncertain
Maya Jama has reportedly signed on to return for the third season of The Gentlemen, after recent comments from cast members dismissing rumours that Meghan Markle might join the show.
Jama, 32, made her scripted acting debut in the show's second season, playing a supporting role connected to one of the main characters.
Now, a source has said Jama impressed producers with her performance and has now confirmed she will return for another season.
"Maya was great in season two and bosses will be glad to see her back for the third series. She's pulled in even more viewers and was a natural on set," the insider told The Sun.
Jama also shared positive experiences working with director Guy Ritchie despite his reputation in the industry.
"He doesn't feel as intimidating as you'd think, being who he is," she said. "He's very personable and he would be like, 'Yeah, you're doing well', and reassure me, which was really nice."
"He's just really involved and kind of a genius to watch, because everyone's practising their lines and then he says something that's way better than the original."
New details about the upcoming season suggest the storyline will focus on one of the show's lead characters attempting to reclaim full control over his family's estate, while facing new challenges from a rival criminal figure.
This update comes after several cast members addressed ongoing speculation about Meghan Markle potentially joining the series during a recent red carpet event. Multiple actors dismissed the rumours.
Despite the public denials, a source suggested that Meghan remains interested in the possibility of appearing on the show now that she and Prince Harry are living in the UK again.
Director Guy Ritchie did not comment on the rumours during recent press appearances, leaving the speculation unresolved for now.
