Prince William likely to represent King Charles at king Harald’s funeral

The British royal family has yet to decide whether King Charles III will attend the funeral of Norway’s late king Harald this month.

King Harald, who died last Friday at the age of 89, will be laid to rest at Oslo Cathedral on September 9, following memorial ceremonies across the country.

Heads of state and members of royal families from around the world are expected to attend.

The funeral service is scheduled to commence at 1pm and will be presided over by Olav Fykse Tveit, president of the Church of Norway.

According to Hello, despite a moving tribute to his "dear cousin", whether King Charles will actually travel for the emotional ceremony remains up in the air.

Sources said Prince William is expected to attend the funeral and pay his respects on behalf of the Royal family.

Harald died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet on August 28.

He had been receiving treatment for haemolytic anaemia, a condition in which red blood cells are destroyed at an abnormally rapid rate.
